Creating a NedID
To create your university e-mail account at Rutgers New Brunswick, you first need to create a NetID at this website. If you are a student your account type will be eden, whereas if you are faculty, you will have a rci account.
The username you choose during this process will serve as your "NetID". For example: If HenryR@eden.rutgers.edu is your university e-mail address HenryR is your NetID. This NetID is used for many processes on campus, including:
- accessing the student computing labs;
- the MyRutgers portal (where you can check your grades, class schedule, bills etc);
- your Rutgers email address and Webmail service;
- wireless Internet service at student centers;
- Sakai, WebCT, Blackboard (for assignment submission);
- transcript requests (via MyRutgers).
