International Students Office

The Center for International Faculty and Student Services (CIFSS, also known as International Students Office) coordinates services for about 3,000 international students, scholars, faculty, and their dependents and offers programs with an international focus for all members of the university community. Programs and services include:
- Providing orientation for new students before the Fall and Spring semester;
- Individual counseling on immigration, cross-cultural, financial, health, and other personal matters;
- Coordinating the:
- International Student Affairs Committee (Graduate Student Association);
- Coordinating the International Friendship Program;
- Coordinating the International Women's Group;
- Offering lectures, workshops and seminars on topics of:
- International and cross-cultural interest;
- English language conversation;
- Employment benefits for nonimmigrant students and employees;
Keeping a Legal Status
On their website, there is a list of "Frequently Asked Questions". There you will find information on how to keep your status legal in the United States; learn details about your visa type (F or J); and know what your travel documents are and how to prepare for a travel (in the legal point-of-view). Walk-in hours are available on-line check out the walk-in hours.
