Travel to New York City

  • New Brunswick to NY Penn Station:
    • NJ Transit: ETA is 50 minutes. A round trip fare is $17.75, and one way is $10.50.
    • AMTRAK: ETA is 40 minutes. A round trip fare is approx $50, and one way is approx $30.
  • New Brunswick Penn Station to Port Authority Bus Terminal or Wall Street.
    • Suburban or Coach USA: ETA is 50 minutes-1 hour. A round trip fare is $19.05, and one way is $9.75.
    • Call 1-800-222-0492 or 249-1100, or visit Suburban's website.
    • Student discount tickets ($13 round trip) are available at the Student Activities Center (SAC) on George St. (College Ave. Campus)

Travel within New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island)

  • Subway: Fare is $2 per ride. Trains leave every 2-5 minutes during rush hours and every 10-15 minutes otherwise and every 20 minutes after midnight and until 6:30 AM.
    • Fares can be paid with a Metro Card (1-800-METROCARD) available at vending machines at most subway stations.
  • Buses: Fare is $2 for local buses and $5 for express bus service.
  • Taxis: Fare is metered.
