NJ Transit Public Buses. Unlike the Rutgers Buses, these are paid services with fares between $1 and $3. Detailed information about routes and fares are available here (NJTransit Website). They are usually also available as flyers, at the student centers. These are the main buses that link New Brunswick to other areas:
- 810 NEW BRUNSWICK - WOODBRIDGE: New Brunswick, Highland Park, Edison, Metuchen, Menlo Park Mall, Woodbridge Mall
- 811 NEW BRUNSWICK - SOUTH RIVER: New Brunswick, North Brunswick, Milltown, East Brunswick
- 814 NEW BRUNSWICK - EDISON: North Brunswick, New Brunswick, Highland Park, Edison
- 815 NEW BRUNSWICK - WOODBRIDGE: New Brunswick, East Brunswick, Sayreville, South Amboy, Perth Amboy,Woodbridge
- 818 NEW BRUNSWICK - EAST BRUNSWICK - OLD BRIDGE: New Brunswick, East Brunswick, Old Bridge
Suburban Transit also offers services in the area of New Brunswick and Highland Park (New York - New Brunskick/Highland Park - Princeton). Build your itinerary at Coach USA.
Cheap Student-Bus tickets for NYC: Also at the SAC. $13.00 for a round trip to New york city. The bus drops you off at Port Authority (42nd) in New York and is quite frequent.
Greyhound Buses and Trailways Buses provide bus service for longer distances.
